First take a look at teacher qualifications. (Not that "highly qualified" has ANYTHING to do with a teacher being highly competent or highly proficient, but it is the yardstick the ed establishment wants to use, so let's humor them.) Lackey has double the percentage of classes that are not taught by "highly qualified" [yawn] teachers. More than 1 in 10

MANY of the stats are similar. But what these statistics don't show is the percentage of kids that were pulled, kicking, screaming, crying, or protesting, into AP classes simply simply to boost numbers, particularly because of the color of their skin. That way CCPS administrators could pat themselves on the back and collect some minority accomplishment trophies when the severly flawed Jay Matthews formula was applied. Our administrators take advantage of the formula's flaws to spit shine their so called accomplishments. My guess is that PB's focus is on the student and providing him or her with advanced placement in college and college level rigor, whereas CCPS's focus seems to be on statistics that make the superintendent look good, collect trophies and obtain bragging rights. (Or should I say bragging wrongs?)
