Jennifer,

I don't know if you have the answer to this, but I am wondering why the last few days of school are always half-days. Is this to give the teachers time to finish up administrative tasks?

Thank you,

Tracy

Tacy,
You are correct and half days or days in which we still serve lunch are counted for our 180 day requirement.

I couldn’t seem to find quite the right place to put this –

Could you tell me why teacher web pages aren’t monitored? I was frustrated this past year with a web page I had expected/hoped would provide ongoing news about a classroom, and though the teacher had a web page, it was not kept current and really wasn’t helpful. I was hesitant to complain, because I didn’t want to have a poor relationship with the teacher, so I did some checking around throughout other teachers’ web pages, and was surprised and disappointed with what I found.

This school system makes such a big deal about its technology…

Anonymous,
I AGREE! I have been disappointed by the lack of information on teachers web-sites. There are exceptions, but they are few. The internet and technology can be such a powerful and useful tool if it is used and kept up-to-date. I have questioned this at the beginning of every school year, but nothing has ever come to fruition. I will try again this year. Thanks for the feedback.
